8 Ways To Give Yourself All Of The Festival Feels

The festive season is upon us and it’s once again time to get mulling, wrapping and carol singing. This is when everyone tends to get in the festive mood and you know ’tis really the season when the Christmas sandwiches and biscuit selection boxes hit the shelves. If you’re not feeling it quite yet, we’ve got a few things that will help you along the way…

Christmas Ads

John Lewis, Waitrose and M&S, to name but a few – the household names have once again brought out the big guns to try and win the unofficial crown of best Christmas ad. When a new one is released it’s always the hot topic on social media for a few days, and whether you love or hate them they never fail to get you feeling Christmassy.

Christmas Pop-Ups

Wherever you look, quite literally it seems in London, there’s something festive popping up. With the abundance of Christmas Markets, ice rinks and cosy cinemas cropping up all over the city, it’s the perfect excuse to round up your mates or plan that perfect festive date night.

The Office Christmas party

It’s that time of year when the emails get sent round and everyone’s chatting in the kitchen about the office Christmas party. What will you wear? Who’s having a smooch under the mistletoe? Who’s getting the bacon sandwiches in the next day? The office party is the hot topic right until the night, then the hangovers are all you’ll talk about for the rest of the week.

Selection Boxes

This time of year is undoubtedly the best for food shopping. Christmas sandwiches, festive flavoured anything and the best of all – the humble selection box. Coming in all shapes, sizes and flavours, there’s something for everyone in that shiny festive tin. Cheese and crackers, chocolates and (our personal favourite) biscuits. And they’re ALWAYS on offer. What’s not to love?

Christmas Songs

There’s the age-old debate of when is it the appropriate time to play festive music. November? December? From the first time a Michael Bublé Christmas song gets played on the radio? It’s also the best time to catch your favourite festive band performing in that town down the roads Christmas fete. Chas and Dave, we’ll see you there.

Celebrities Turning on Christmas Lights

It’s a British Christmas tradition that no one’s sure how it started, but even in 2016 it’s still going strong. Pretty much every town in the country will try and find the best (or any) celeb they can to turn on their Christmas lights. Whether that’s the town mayor, Joey Essex or Ed Balls – it’s a weird yet wonderful treat. Want to know who’s switching on your local lights? Check out the list here.

Festive Drinks

Debatably one of the best things about the season are the festive drinks. Coffee chains have their seasonal menus and specially designed cups out in full force, and there’s mulled wine pretty much around every corner. It’s also the perfect time to get your apron on and give mulling a go yourself.

Festive Attire

Christmas jumpers, earrings, socks. There’s always that one person in the office that whips out the entire festive outfit weeks before the big day. There are the Christmas clothing lovers and those who are given them as gifts and have to wear them. We’ve all been there but don’t worry, you rock those light up snowman earrings.

There you have it. We hope you’re feeling extra festive after reading that. That’s a lot of Christmas to take in, why not start your post-Christmas planning and check out the Biggest Gigs to Book for 2017.
