  1. VICE reports on the Bussey backlash

Last week, we urged all Londoners to object against plans to build luxury apartments on Rye Lane, a project that would ultimately see the demise of cultural centre the Bussey Building. After a resounding backlash from locals, Londoners and frequent Bussey revelers, the plans have been paused. Good news for now. In response, Vice has picked up the case, reporting on the gentrification of Peckham and the implications plans like this one can have on much-loved areas of London. A fascinating read.     2. And the ES Theatre Award goes to…

The Old Vic Theatre was alive last night, as the whole of the West End turned out for the Evening Standard’s annual Theatre Awards. Winners included Nicole Kidman for her part in Photograph 51, which has now finished and James McAvoy for his part in The Ruling Class, which also ran earlier this year.     3. Pat Sharp is in the FUN House

Yes, you guessed it. Pat Sharp and his house of fun is back! Efes Snooker Club will be transformed into the set of Fun House, the popular after-school show we all know and love! Expect a giant ball pit, go-karts and a variety of silly games, plus the man himself will be djing. The Fun House is happening this Friday and tickets are already on final release, so get a move on and purchase yours now.

    4. Puppy Love

In the wake of the Paris raids where police dog Diesel lost his life, Russia has offered to send France a new puppy to replace him. Dobrynya is named after Russian folk hero, Dobrynya Nikitch, who was known for his bravery and strength. The pup will go through medical checks before reaching his new home also. The offering is “a sign of solidarity with the people and police of France,” according to AFP. See Paris’ latest recruit here.

    5. Junior Hits the High Notes

A French bulldog names Junior is giving Rhianna a run for her money with his rendition of one of her tracks. This pup really needs no introduction either, so just sit back, snack and enjoy…
